Their story;

The “A” in AG – Anet, in 2012, needed a change of pace from her wealth management career and left to pursue her love of baking. After a short stop in Paris, she fell in love with French Macarons and founded AG Macarons out of a small commercial kitchen supplying the local community and other bakeries.

The “G” in AG – Together with her husband Michael Gesualdi, they decided it was time to take the next step and expand to a larger production facility. Today, Anet and Michael supply more than 750 retailer locations out of their HACCP certified baking facility based out of Toronto.

The first time we had one of Carla’s butter tarts was at the Midland Butter Tart Festival and I could not get enough. With 18 options, we have a difficult time selecting which one’s to market as they are all so good.

With that being said, here is her story;

Carla’s story starts with her love and passion for family. Carla’s Cookie Box is an independent, woman-owned, and locally operated bakery that specializes in Award-Winning Gourmet Butter Tarts, Artisanal Cookies & Luscious Deep Fudge Brownies. Carla started her online baking business from a blooming love of baking as an Italo-Canadian.

It all began in 1972, when Michael Ogus worked as an architect on a building on Toronto’s Bloor Street. His client, a restaurateur, mentioned he was looking for someone in the city who made good cheesecake; Michael, in good husbandly fashion, immediately thought of his wife Carole. Although she worked as an elementary school teacher, Carole’s passion outside of the classroom was baking.

Fast forward to the present day and the business is now run by Paul who has added more products to the list including Cheesecake STIKS™ and Japanese Cheesecakes just to name a few. Always an innovator, his branded products with Reese’s and Hershey’s SKOR make it easy for a four pack of STIKS™ to disappear in minutes.
